First Lutheran Church
1212 Minneapolis Ave.
EYEsee is a ministry at First Lutheran carried out by our middle school kids. Operated by a high school group in Illinois, the EYEsee program is a non-profit organization that collects old or unused glasses and sends them to poor, third world countries. In these places, a person’s daily wages can be $4.00. That means a simple pair of prescription glasses can cost a month’s salary! By donating one pair of old, unused glasses, you can change a person’s entire life.
We are excited to be the “Upper Peninsula branch” of EYEsee. We will be collecting glasses in our own congregation and then moving out to other area congregations.
Our EYEsee group collects glasses throughout the Delta Conference, visiting other churches to collect glasses to send to the Illinois for worldwide distribution.
Your donation of eye glasses is always welcome. Just drop them off at the church and we will send them on their way! Just look for the EYEsee collection area in the narthex.
